inFamous 2 Review!

I noticed some of you have been playing inFamous 1 recently as part of your welcome back package, so hopefully this review will help you alot.

inFamous 2 starts directly after the events of inFamous 1, Cole meets an agent who knows everything about Cole and Kessler.
She plans to take him to New Marais to enhance his powers, but The Beast (the destructive being Kessler warns Cole about in inFamous 1 destroys Empire City and Cole, Zeke and the agent named Quo head to New Marais to unlock secrets to destroy he monster.

The game starts with your fight against 'The Beast' in Empire City. It gives you like a refreshment of all the powers Cole already has, it was great not having to reignite all his old powers, everything from inFamous 1 is given to you from the very start, which gives it a great feel to just a continuation of the original story.

When arriving in New Marais Zeke gives cole a new weapon called The Amp. This allows you to enhance your combat. I have to say i barely used melee in the 1st game but its all i use in this game if i can. The combos are amazing and later on you can unlock finishers and ultimate finishers which result in a little clip of you beating down some soldier or mutant. This alone will make you fall in love with the game.

The game kicks off with a new power too, called Kinetic Pulse, which allows you to elevate an object such as a car and launch it your enemies, or pedestrians if your in that mood!
Again your karma choices shape your look and powers, i've gone for Evil 1st as i like being a bastard! I dont want to spoil too much but there's more variation of each ability, like a electric hook, a shockwave move that sticks to your enemies and you can shoot to cause a devistating explosion. And theres a whole lot more than that!

There's so much to do with the story and without it, there's over 37 missions on each island and now there's User Generated Content which are missions created by people like you, they range from ring races to obliterating scores of enemies!

Karma is now influenced by 2 people, Agent Quo who is given Ice powers repesents the Angel on your shoulder and hater of the white people Nix, she has Fire powers to represent the devil on your shoulder. It defintely adds to the story and makes the karma choices just that little bit more fun, destroy everything or spare the innocent! Down to you!

Another great change is instead of all the cutscenes being in comic form they have now mixed in some real motion cutsecenes that look brilliant! The effects are amazing!

All togther this game has me hooked, they have taken all the great elements of inFamous 1 and enhanced them and added to them to create inFamous 2!

Overall: 10/10

Even is you havent played inFamous 1 i think this game will blow you away, this could be in my top 5 games of the year, and thats saying a lot with some of the games that have and are still to come out this year. Uncharted 3, Batman, Mw3, BF3, Assassins Creed....this game is really amazing!

I got duke nukem mate it's alright, you'll get a platinum pretty easy, I went through it on normal and got 60% of the trophies with out trying and I'll get the rest when I get it back.

what are the graphics like in comparison to the first one?

ommmmgg its an awesome game i have to tell you...i havent got the game but i've played the demo....i just love it the graphics are awesome as welll from the first one ridge....

been playing the shit out of infamous 1 for the lulz and im hoping to get the second one but it just occured to me to ask: how is the climbing/ free-running in the second one? it was a bit glitchy in the first

Its all the same style but Cole's sense of grabbing a ledge is much more spot on!

Dont of that bouncing up and down on a ledge shit, He'll grab everything straight away!

Graphics are crazy ridge, the powers are in so much more detail its unbelievable, really is a great game!

I just got the demo I can't wait to get this game, it feels a little looser in the combat than the first one but it's still amazing

Really? the combat is what keeps me loving it so much!

The melee is far better but the feeling of the power of the moves like the megawatt hammer and such isn't as good and the camera angle when you zoom in is a lot different so that tool some time getting used to but overall it is definelty a better game and deserves a 10/10
