Sorry for the delay lads, screens gone on my laptop so had to wait til i was back at work!
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
I was very disappointed with this movie, it doesn't hold a candle to the original trilogy.
In this film we see Jack Sparrow heading for the fountain of youth. Only because he has been forced to do so by Blackbeard (Ian McShane) the most feared pirate in the world. We also meet Angelica, a woman from Jack's past who was heartbroken when Jack up and left her.
Barbosa returns as a soldier for the Government also looking for the fountain of youth, but for his own agenda.
I saw this in 3D and this was one of the main reasons i hated it, uncomfortable glasses and all the action seemed quite blurred to be honest, i'm not a fan of 3D but unfortunately thats the way most big movies are going, the next 3 movies i wanna see are in 3D (Green Lantern, Harry Potter & Transformers)
However i'll get past this and talk about why the movie itself was quite bad. It seemed to lack the comedy it once had. There were a few jokes here and there but they didn't emphasise on Sparrow too much. I didn't understand this as he's the main reason we enjoy the movies with his weird antics!
Jack's new companion Scrum lacked and personality besides a bafoon and they never explained Blackbeard properly. Somehow he could bring a ship to life and use its ropes and sails with a touch of his sword. I never got how this worked?
Barbosa was an odd character as he had retired from his pirating ways but was by far the best character in the movie, still as ruthless as ever.
The ending was very much rushed and really disappointed me, 2 hours waiting for the final battle and it was pathetic.
If they decide to make another i suggest getting the old cast back, and getting the old director back. Rob Marshall was shit!
