I went to see this earlier this evening, what can I say? This movie is simply awesome, plenty of jumpy, gripping moments, lots of blood and brutal killings, with some extra's thrown into this without ruining the original storyline. I cant remember the old ones too much, but the remake goes back to basics, works back and forth between memories of teenagers to give the audience and first time viewer as to why Freddy is such an evil man, its hard to talk about this movie without giving much away.
Sammys Ratings:
Scariness / Horror: 9/10 - I feel that some parts were sort of predictable, I was counting down a few times of when things were going to pop/jump out.
Acting: 8/10 - A lot of these actors I've not heard of except the Actor that plays Kruger (forgotten his name in all), so more than anything, I think they lacked experience, but good to see fresh young talent hitting the big screens.
Story: 10/10 - All edited and extra bits thrown in were a great addition to the movie, fast paced, informative, and most of all the story was kept original, thats always a plus.
Effects / Graphics: 10/10 - Just because this is a horror movie, it doesnt mean special effects are kept to a minimum, the special effects used in the movie were perfect, nothing to over the top and the timing was perfect, nice and smooth effects throughout the movie.
Overall: 9 / 10
I dont do horror movies, but this is a simply kick ass re-make of a great anthology of movies, definite must watch !
