Battlefield 3 beta.

Did anyone else get invited to the beta early?

I have MOH but I only checked my e-mails today so I think it's on the psn tomorrow anyway

same despite a few glitches with dropping through the ground its already one of the best multiplayer games ive played

Needed to turn the controls up to max sensitivity but it was still a bit slow, looks good but not ground breaking like they said it was going to be. needs a lot of work but that's what a beta is for

the graphics are pretty much ps2 quality and clunky is an understatement. Horrible

its funny how split everyone is on this game now I thought the graphics were awesome, the wear and tear on the guns look really realistic and the lighting effects are beautiful. The new engine makes the environment so realistic, the way they trees sway and the bark cracks from different rounds is amazing, the movement of the character not only feels real but looks it with the movement of the gun when going prone and the way you jump over objects. I've yet to find an over powered gun and even if someone seems to be dominating with a certain weapon you just need to switch up your attachments. For example: i was in the first stage and there was a sniper at the back of the map with a medic/assault guy (the kits need a bit of work) and i couldnt get close enough with an M16 with holographic so i changed to an M16 with IR sight, bipod and laser sight and picked off the bastard with a couple of rounds. Thats another thing i love, the interactive attachments such as the bipod and laser sight and tactical light work so well, especially the bipod, it sets up automatically and takes not time to take down. I think the Tactical flashlight is too bright though so that should be taken down a notch. I've checked out the weapons list and there at least 10 different weapons for each type (assault rifle, sub machingun etc.) but there isnt a list of attachments yet because there are so many! I'm about 6 hours in at level 18 i think and ive only worked on the M16 and UMP so far but i still dont have all the attachments. It's amazing how much variety there is in this game and ive only played 1 map, the way players can choose to play as a team or not and the sheer amount of playing styles allowed through the array of weapons makes each game so different to the last! I pre-ordered it today so i have a copy on day 1, i cant wait to try out the different maps because i can tell there is so much more to get out of this game. There is a major problem with this game in that it isnt one that you can just jump into because of the amount of tactics involved, thats why i'll be buying both this and MW3 because Battlefield still lacks the smoothness and fast pace that makes a game easier to play.

i tried it again to try and convince myself that it was good. it didnt work i guess battlefield just isnt for me, i dont like it at all. deleted it now.

The new 'Battlelog' service Beta is available now to view your stats, here's mine for example if you want to see what it looks like because im guessing CoD Elite will look a lot like this:

And i just found out why the graphics and slickness of the game arent what some of you expected, they arent running the new engine but an ALPHA one made a few months back as it takes a few months to get a BETA certified. So the actual game will run at full capacity which will be a lot better than the current one

Liked your last two messages mate, I think your right about the fact you cant just jump on and get into it, aspecially as I've never played bf before. The main thing for me though is the graphics I thiink, Mike had me worked out with homefront, I'm a whore for smoothy nice graphics, and I struggle to get into it unless it looks mint(unless its football). will maybe give it a bash when its all finished, we'll see

Yeah, the graphics on MW3 are a lot sharper and shiner than BF3's soft looking graphics.
